Pretty in Pink

This is Sweetie Pie's sister, Pretty Bird.  DH was expanding my chicken coop when Frankie, alias Cyclops lost an eye and needed a place to stay. With 4 cats in the house I quickly suggested making the chicken coop a cattery.  Now the exotic chick collection needs a warmer place to stay.  Thus the experiment with inter-species living arrangements.

This is Pretty Bird cackling her pride.
Evidently Pretty Bird was ready to begin laying.  Although the exotic collection was 6 months old I didn't expect them to start laying during the shortest days of the year.
This morning the pink cat bed was not available so she climbed into the cat cage and laid her egg in the cat bed inside the cage - determined to find a nest isn't she.
DH got the nest boxes mounted in the cattery and I filled them with alfalfa - only the best for the exotic girls.
Pretty bird at home in a proper nest box.
 And the results.
Frankie, named for the nasty row of stitches across his face when he came home is unsure if there is room for Tripod in the pink cat bed.  Yep, you are correct, Tri only has 3 legs.  Frankie is growling at this point. DH was happy to hear this because it means the cats in the cattery won't be multiplying anytime soon.  Frankie and Tri are not pleased to be roommates.

Ok, nice and comfy now that those chickens are in their place.  Strange to see 3 eyes staring at you isn't it?
